Introduction: Field of Science that the Project Belongs to Research on Xinrong--a New Drug for Anti-myocardial Damage is a research achievement in applied technology in TCM modernization
Main Contents: In the winter of 1975, in the practice of research on Ke-shan disease at Diantou Township, Huangling County, Shaanxi Province in light of the therapeutic principle stated in Nan Jing (Classics on Difficult Medical Problems), that ˇ°if heart is damaged, the defensive energy needs to be regulatedˇ± and the therapeutic approach of modern medicine as ˇ°regarding improving the cardiac muscle and metabolism of the whole body as the chief concernˇ±, it was found that when compound decoction of herbal medicine was used to treat Ke-shan disease it helped the treatment in improvement in symptoms and signs(referring to the improvement in electrocardiogram), and increased the content of Vitamin E in the blood. Experiments in 1978 showed that this compound prescription showed a protective effect on cardiac muscle death (injuries) of mice caused by DIH. After it won the grant from the National Foundation of Natural Science of China (No. 3870571), further research with modern technology in functions, metabolism and morphology at such levels as the entire body, cells and sub-cell levels showed that this compound prescription manifested a marked protective effect on cardiac muscle death (injuries) of animals caused by DIH. With this as a basis, according to the Approval Regulations for New Drugs issued by the Ministry of Public health of China in 1985, the related new drug preparation technique was studied. In March, 1995, it obtained the Certificate for New Drugs issued by the Ministry of Public Health of China [No. (95) Z-22], with an official name as Xinrong Oral Liquid. The drug is used for anti-cardiac injuries. In 1997, the research on the new dosage form was started, and in April, 2002, it won two new drug certificates from the National Drug Control Bureau: The Certificate for New Drug: Xinrong Granules (Z20000033), and the Certificate for New Drug: Xinrong Capsules (Z20000034). Xinrong supports yang and benefits qi, nourishes yin and, and vitalizes the heart to nourish the heart, improve the metabolism and the cardiac muscles and the whole body, so that heart-yin is gradually restored and heart-yang recovers so as to realize the purpose of vitalizing the heart to support vital energy to protect the cardiac muscle from getting harmed. The drugs are used for cardiac injuries caused by coronary heart disease, cardiac muscular disease and myocardial infection. They can also be used for chronic heart failure.
Special Properties and Practical use: Xinrong products not only can be used for protection of the cardiac muscular damage by various organic heart diseases, but also have a property that by monitoring hemodynamic changes before and after drug administration using Swan-Ganz floatation catheter, it can clearly demonstrate that they can improve hemodynamic parameters and heart functions of the patients with congestive heart failure. This is quite rare in this field. In May, 1995, Xinrong Oral liquid was listed as 12 key projects for developing into production in the ˇ°Ninth Five-Year Planˇ± of Shaanxi Province. In 1996, it was listed in the National ˇ°Spark Planˇ± (No.[1996]049) Since Xinrong Oral Liquid was put into production in January, 1996, it has been sold in such provinces as Xinjiang, Gansu, Shaanxi, Shanxi, Shandong, Fujian. From January, 1996 to December, 1997, the total production value amounted to RMB Yuan 21 million, and the net income was RMB Yuan 1.96 million.
In December, 2000, it was officially put into production. After it went on sale for two years, there have been produced 42,941 boxes of the preparation, with a production value of RMB Yuan 120.234 million, and the net profits amounted to RMB Yuan 7.1936 million. In 2003, it won the second prize for National Science Advancement (No. 2003-227). Xinrong Oral Liquid, Xinrong Capsules, Xinrong Granules have been sold in 23 provinces, cities and autonomous regions of China. When all the Xinrong products are put into production, great contribution will be made for the treatment of heart patients. They can obtain greater economic and social benefits in the treatment of anoxic and ischemic cardiac damage and anoxic and ischemic cardiovascular disease. |
